The police on Friday registered a case against the branch secretary of the ruling CPI(M) in Palakkad district on the basis of a complaint by his neighbour.

A case has been registered against a local CPI(M) leader for attempting to film a woman on her mobile phone inside the bathroom, following which she has been suspended by the party. The police on Friday registered a case against the branch secretary of the ruling CPI(M) in Palakkad district on the basis of a complaint by his neighbour. The accused is absconding.

“The case was registered yesterday based on the complaint of the woman. We are yet to catch him,” police told PTI. Meanwhile, the woman, who is also a CPI(M) worker, told the media that she found someone recording her with a mobile phone and shouting, after which she was identified.

“I had complained to senior party leaders only yesterday. He gave me full support and suspended him from the party and his post in the morning itself. The party is making a case for me. The police have also registered a case against him.”
