AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj alleged that the BJP is not allowing the standing committee elections to be held. He said that the BJP is going against the order of the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court, in its February 17 order, had said that notice shall be issued within 24 hours for convening the first meeting of the MCD to decide the date for election of mayor, deputy mayor and standing committee members. of civic body.

The next day, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena approved the convening of the Municipal Council to hold elections on 22 February.
