Supreme Court’s decision on regional languages from January 26
On Wednesday, the country’s Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said that from January 26, the Supreme Court’s decision will be published in several languages including Hindi, Gujarati, Oriya and Tamil. However, the judgment is still not being translated into Bengali. The six-member committee, headed by Justice AS Oka, will look into the issue of translation of the judgement. Subsequently, the Supreme Court’s judgment will be published in all the languages listed in the Schedule of the Constitution. So far 21 judgments have been translated into Oriya, 14 into Maratha, 4 into Ahmiya, 1 into Garo, 17 into Kannada, 29 into Malayalam.
Gujarat High Court dismisses Saket Gokhal’s bail plea
