LIV Golf’s 54-hole Format ‘Not a Golf Tournament’, Says US Open Champion Jon Rahm – Henry Club

Rahm told reporters on Tuesday that he did not see the appeal of playing in a Saudi-backed golf league, nor was playing 54-hole golf an actual tournament.

“I see other people’s appeal to LIV golf. I see some points and arguments they might like,” Rahm said. “To be honest, the format part is not really appealing to me. Shotgun three days, to me, ain’t a golf tournament – no cut. It’s that easy. I want to play against the best in the world and a format that has been going on for hundreds of years. That’s what I want to see.”

Rahm said he talked about the financial implications of going to LIV golf, but he and his wife were happy with the money they made with PGA TourHe said the history of the tour and its legacy was something he cared about.
