Light to moderate rain in Mancherial, Nirmal districts

Mancherial: Light to moderate rain was recorded in many parts of Mancherial and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts on Monday.

Tandur, Nennal, Vemanapally, Nennal, Mancherial, Chennur and Kotapalli divisions recorded 16 mm to 60 mm of rainfall at isolated places. Dandepally, Bhimini, Kaspet, Mandamari, Janaram, Hajipur and other divisions received less than 15 mm of rain. The average rainfall of the district is 11 mm. The district has so far recorded 985 mm as against the normal 985 mm.

Basar, Thanur and Narsapur (G) mandals of Nirmal district, Tirayani mandal of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district received anywhere between 16 mm to 50 mm of rain. About 10 mm of light rain occurred in many divisions of both the districts. The hill streams were flooded, resulting in effluents in irrigation tanks and projects in Mancherial, Nirmal and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts.

Meanwhile, irrigation projects received abundant inflows. Sripada Yellampally project in Gudipet village of Hajipur mandal saw an inflow of 3.12 lakh cusecs. The water level reached 18.457 TMC against the storage capacity of 20.175 TMC. Surplus was discharged by lifting 36 gates. Similarly, the Kadam Narayan Reddy project had an inflow of 14,792 cusecs. The project capacity was 7.033 TMC as against 7.603 TMC.
