Accusing the BJP government in Karnataka of failing to deal with the flood situation and providing compensation to those affected in the last few years, state Congress chief DK Shivakumar on Sunday challenged the ruling party to go to polls and get a fresh mandate. Gave. “BJP does not have the honor or ability to rule the state, they do not know how to serve the people… When there are difficulties and people are dying and losing property, this government has completely failed. Let’s go for elections, to give a new administration,” Shivakumar said.

Talking to reporters here, he said, “Let’s go before the people and let them decide.” The KPCC president was questioning the government’s inability to pay compensation to the flood victims for the past two years.

At the same time, accusing the central government of neglecting the state in giving compensation, he said, “Why didn’t the prime minister come (to assess the flood situation in the state), didn’t want, did he (Centre) at least given money? Why didn’t these MPs (25 BJP MPs) go (seeking compensation), what had happened to these MPs?”

This is the fourth consecutive year that parts of Karnataka have received torrential rains, resulting in floods and landslides.
