Left activists accused of discrimination against city workers

Like government employees, workers staged a sit-in in Kolkata Poornima Bhawan demanding health insurance, minimum wage and pension gratuity. Recently, members of the Left Workers Union had gone to depute Deputy Mayor Atin Ghosh for this demand.

It is learned that the members of the Left Trade Union had staged a sit-in at the Kolkata Purnimagam headquarters on Friday last. The strike is a seven-point demand. These claims include the introduction of health insurance for full-time employees. This demand has been made by the members of the Left Trade Union of Calcutta Poornima for a long time. According to him, he wants to find a solution to the problem through talks with Mayor Firhad Hakim. Union President Ratan Bhattacharya said, “If the employees are denied their legitimate demands, then the city administration will be responsible for any untoward situation arising.
