League Cup: Manchester United Crash Out; Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea Advance

Manchester United crashed out of the League Cup as West Ham avenged their painful loss to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side with a 1-0 win at Old Trafford, while Chelsea and Tottenham reached the fourth round on Wednesday on penalty shoot-outs. escaped out.

Kane back on track

Harry Kane ended his goal drought as Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo defeated his former club Wolves 3-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw at Molineux.

Tanguy Ndombele gave Tottenham the lead in the 14th minute when he turned down Conor Cody’s approval and left John Rudy behind.

Kane extended Tottenham’s lead after 23 minutes without a goal in their last four matches.

Leander Dendonkar pulled a bar back for Wolves seven minutes before the break when he went into Ryan Ait-Nuri’s corner.

Daniel Podens took 13 minutes from Dendonkar’s pass in the second half.

In the shootout, Dendonkar, Ruben Neves and Cody all miss for Wolves.

Nuno said of Kane, “He has a lot to offer and it’s all about the game, improving and growing together.”

Arsenal eased out a 3–0 win against third-tier AFC Wimbledon at the Emirates Stadium, leading to a last 16 clash with Leeds.

The Gunners, featuring 10 changes from the weekend’s win at Burnley, advanced in the 11th minute.

Gabriel Martinelli was fouled by Nesta Guinness-Walker and Alexandre Lacazette took home a penalty.

Emil Smith-Rowe doubled the lead in the 77th minute and Eddie Neketia’s strong flick secured the win three minutes later.

Ademola Lukman scored her first Leicester goal in a 2–0 win at second tier Millwall.

Luchmann, starting his first Leicester after his loan move from RB Leipzig, struck a cool five minutes into the second half after George Long saved Kelechi Ihenacho’s effort.

In the 88th minute, Ihenacho climbed onto the roof of the net to get himself on the scoresheet.

Brighton manager Graham Potter enjoyed a 2-0 win against his former club Swansea at the Amex Stadium thanks to Aaron Connolly’s first-half brace.
