Lawyers thrash woman in Malir court complex – World Latest News Headlines

Karachi: A woman activist of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and her brother were allegedly assaulted by lawyers in Malir Court premises on Monday.

Laila Parveen told the media that she along with her brother had appeared in the court against her ex-husband Advocate Hasnain in the case of check bounce.

She said that her ex-husband had given a check of Rs 65 lakh, which bounced when she approached the bank.

She said that she filed a case with the Sight-Superhighway police station and when she came to attend the hearing along with her brother, her ex-husband verbally and physically tortured her associates, Advocate Shahzad Saeed and Advocate Jalbani.

The incident caused a stir in the judicial premises and a video also went viral on social media.

Later Riyaz Bhatti, general secretary of the Malir District Bar Association, said that some lawyers had tried to settle the dispute between Advocate Hasnain and Ms Parveen, but some of the people who came with them became harsh and clashed with each other.
