Lawyer writes to CJI on ‘targeted killings’ in J&K – World Latest News Headlines

A Delhi-based lawyer has written to Chief Justice of India NV Ramana to take cognizance of the “targeted killings” of minorities in Kashmir and direct the Center to take steps to ensure their safety.

In his letter on Saturday, advocate Vineet Jindal pointed out that seven civilians, including people from Sikh and Hindu communities, were killed in Kashmir in five days. “The targeted killings… have created a sense of anguish, fear and insecurity among the Hindu and Sikh minorities living in Kashmir,” it said.

Jindal urged the court to treat his communication as a letter PIL.
