The body of Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar was buried with state honors in Bengaluru. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and many superstars of the South film industry arrived to pay their last respects. His last rites were to be performed on Saturday but, as his daughter Vandita took time to reach India from the US, the last rites were postponed to Sunday. A special plane was arranged by the state authority to bring Vandita from Delhi to Bangalore.

In his short life span of 46 years, Puneet was also a power star of philanthropy. They could not hear anything against religions. Even during the Corona epidemic, Puneet donated 50 lakh rupees to the CM Relief Fund. Puneet had taken up the responsibility of higher education of 45 schools, 26 orphanages, 16 old age homes, 19 gaushalas and 1800 orphan girls.
2 fans died of shock, 1 hanged
Puneet’s popularity can be gauged from the fact that 2 fans died in shock after hearing the news of his demise. A fan committed suicide by hanging himself. At present, the city of Bangalore is on high alert. A roll has been imposed on the sale of liquor here. Lakhs of fans were standing at the Kanteerva Stadium, where Puneet’s body was kept for last rites, since Friday evening to pay their last respects to the power star.

Puneet’s family
Puneeth was the youngest of five children of Dr. Rajkumar and Parvathamma. He is survived by wife Ashwini Revanth and two daughters Dhriti and Vandita. Raghavendra Rajkumar, Shiva Rajkumar are his brothers and Lakshmi, Poornima are his sisters.
144 section imposed to prevent untoward incident
There is a wave of mourning across Karnataka due to the demise of Puneet Rajkumar. All theaters in the state have been closed. Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai along with Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has expressed grief after reaching Kanteerva Stadium. As a precaution, the sale of liquor has also been stopped in Bengaluru for two nights.

These movies remained incomplete
Puneet was shooting for the film Gems to be directed by Chetan Kumar. Known to be a formidable action entertainer, Puneet had completed a major part of the shooting of the film. His opposite was Priya Anand in the film. Puneet also had to shoot for Dwitva. It was supposed to go on floors in November or December. This was her first collaboration with Pawan Kumar.
Puneet also had an untitled project with Santosh Anandram. The two have worked together in Rajakumara and Yuvaratna. Apart from this, Puneet also had five films under his home banner which he had produced.
