Lalu in hospital: new diet chart made by RJD chief, doctors asked whether he would be able to eat fish

Former Bihar Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav is currently admitted in RIMS (Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences) Hospital in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Lalu, who was convicted in the fodder scam, had increased blood pressure in the past. According to the team of doctors monitoring Lalu’s health, his diabetes level is still uncontrolled and his kidney condition is also not normal. Due to this the dietician has made a diet chart for them.

According to the information, Lalu Yadav asked the doctors on seeing the diet chart whether he could eat fish or not. On this the doctors told him that he can eat fish only once a week and that too maximum two pieces. In the diet chart, Lalu has been asked to take less sodium i.e. salt. At the same time, sugar has also been asked to take negligible. His diet chart includes breakfast, lunch, evening snack and dinner. They have been asked to consume more high protein foods like milk, curd, cheese etc.

Even last time when he was admitted to RIMS, he used to eat only food of his choice. Meenakshi, a dietician of RIMS, who made this diet chart, says that Lalu Yadav has a problem of diabetic nephropathy. Diabetes has a great impact on the kidneys. That’s why his diet chart has also been prepared accordingly.

In view of the health condition of the RJD chief, he has been asked to refrain from consuming potassium and sodium rich diet. It has also been advised to stay away from other dry fruits including cashews, raisins. Apart from this, eating spinach and tomatoes is also forbidden.
