Olympic silver medalist Ravi Dahiya became the showstopper for talented fashion designer Mohammad Mazhar at Lakme Fashion Week in association with FDCI. Dressed in an Indo-boho rustic style outfit, Ravi stunned the glamor world and the fashion fraternity with his elegant yet stylish presence in the digital showcase of the show.
Dahiya is already seen as a wrestling icon and now with his debut on the ramp is all set to inspire youngsters to work hard and shine in more than just one field. Her personality and athletic physique make her a perfect fit for the fashion domain as she dazzled Mazhar’s show with her presence. He looked as comfortable on the ramp as he is in the wrestling ring.
On making his fashion debut, Dahiya said, “I am very happy to be a part of FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week. Wearing designer outfits and walking the ramp was as exciting as wrestling. Mohammad Mazhar is a talented designer who has taken inspiration from ‘khat’ (cot) to create an amazing outfit for me so that I can look fabulous.”
Fashion designer Mohammad Mazhar’s designs have always drawn inspiration from the marginalized communities of India. They believe that these communities are contributing directly or indirectly to the fashion industry. On making Ravi his showstopper, Mazhar said, “Ravi is a perfect match for my collection. More than a showstopper, I share similarities with Ravi as we both hail from small towns and have carved a niche internationally.”
