Kushwaha has been fuming since Kumar rejected him as another deputy CM apart from RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav

JD(U) national president Rajeev Ranjan Singh alias Lalan said that dissident leader Upendra Kushwaha “is no longer the head of the party’s parliamentary board”.

Lallan also said that Kushwaha was, now, “only a JDU MLC”, though the former Union minister would be “re-nominated” to the party’s top post, subject to “continuity and commitment” (if party mein rehne, man se rehne). can be done.

“Only the national president was elected in the party’s national executive meeting held in December (last year). After this no other office bearer has been appointed. Therefore, Kushwaha, technically, is no longer the head of the parliamentary board,” Lallan said on Monday.

Notably, Kushwaha was holding the top post of the party since March, 2021 when he returned to JD(U) after merging his Rashtriya Lok Samta Party.

Welcoming him into the party, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the supreme leader, in a rare gesture immediately announced that Kushwaha would be chairman of the parliamentary board.

Lalan’s statement came just after an “open letter” was written by Kushwaha to party members, urging them to attend a two-day conference next week where factors responsible for weakening the JD(U) would be discussed. will be discussed. Rumor of agreement with RJD

“Kushwaha claims that he is concerned about the well-being of the party, while harming it by making his discontent public on a daily basis. I wish he could see the irony,” the JD(U) president said.

Kushwaha has been fuming since Kumar rejected him as another deputy CM apart from RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav.

He also claimed that his return to the JD(U) was at the behest of Kumar, who is in his 70s and had “expressed his desire that I run the party after him”.

Lallan also rejected Kushwaha’s allegation that the party post was like a “lollipop” and he was not consulted while deciding the candidates for the election.

Asked whether this obstinacy could cost Kushwaha the seat of the Legislative Council, the JD(U) chief cryptically said, “It is not for me to say. Disqualification of a member is the prerogative of the Speaker of the House.” “
