The Twitter review of Dulquer Salmaan’s much-awaited film Kurup is out and netizens are very impressed with the thriller. Directed by Srinath Rajendran, based on the fugitive Sukumara Kurup, will hit the theaters on Saturday, November 12 in all languages. The film was earlier scheduled to release on May 28 this year, but due to the deadly second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the release was postponed. Kurup is the first Malayalam film to release in Kerala after the state government announced the reopening of theatres. Dulquer, who plays the lead, said of the film that “It has been a long, ambitious yet difficult journey with Kurup.”
The idea took years, almost a year for filming, and several months of post-production, and then the pandemic. Now, early reviews suggest that the film will not disappoint. While most of the audience felt that the first part was slow, they are highly appreciating the second part of the film for its twist. The climax is also being praised a lot. One user called it “right for its genre”, while another called it a “classy, mystery thriller”.
See how netizens reacted on Twitter:
#Dry#kurupreviewA well-crafted mystery drama with some gripping elements. The first half is a little behind, but towards the end, it gets interesting and the second half sticks out a lot. It’s mostly honest to its style, so don’t expect more group moments!

Sincere review. ‘Sukumar Kurup’ is a new thing for you, but it is worth watching for you. Sukumara Kurup is an exciting name that Malayalees have been hearing about since childhood, and in Kerala it is an added positive factor… November 12, 2021
