Kubra Sait Says He Didn’t Write About Molestation For ‘Pity Party’: ‘It’s Over, Look Where I Am Today’

After revealing sexual abuse at the age of 17 in her memoir, Sacred Games fame Kubbra Sait has now clarified that she does not want a “pity party”. The actress’s memoir Open Book, released on June 27, saw Kubbra reveal that she was molested for two and a half years by a family friend. However, now she has recovered from it. In a recent interview with Zoom, the actress said that it “took about 3 days” for this chapter to end. He added that a person will find oppressors on their way, who will make you feel that you are not “good enough”.

Furthermore, she continued that writing her memoir was literally about forgiving herself for not knowing what to do at the time. Zoom quoted Kubbra as saying, “Initially, when I was writing this, it was a chapter that took about 3 days. In my opinion, this was a long term limitation. I didn’t want a pity party. It’s over, look where I am today, there will be harassers all along the way, they will do everything possible to make you small and make you feel like you are not good enough. Kubbra said that her main intention behind writing this memoir was not to let the world know that she was a “sad soul”.

He continued, “We are all sad in such a situation, but I am miles away from that situation now. I am looking at it from the perspective of an outsider, I didn’t want to fix it.” Stating that one action of a man cannot define his life, Kubra said, “One action of that man cannot define my whole life. I have to move forward with my head held high. I know so many people who are so close to their heart that they can’t get past it.”

Despite the difficult event, it reminds the actress of the incredible journey she has taken. The actress concluded by saying that one needs to “reach out to people”, and then you will feel that “they are ready to help.”

Apart from Sacred Games, Kubra is known for her work in films like Jawaani Jaaneman, Gully Boy and Sultan. Next, the actress will be next seen in Rajat Kapoor’s directorial RK/RKAY, which will hit the theaters on July 22. Apart from Kubbra, the film stars Mallika Sherawat, Ranvir Shorey and Manu Rishi Chaddha in lead roles.
