Krishna, Godavari Board will take over projects in Telangana and Andhra; Seek cooperation from state officials

The Krishna and Godavari boards decided to implement the gazette notification to take up certain projects and works related to irrigation and power generation in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh from October 14. The aim is to take over projects in both the states to prevent them from fighting. for their rights. The board wants to score 29 marks, which includes 18 marks and 12 marks in Sagar and Srisailam regions. However, both the states are yet to express their opinion on the move.

The board held a meeting with the officials of the states and sought their support.

The board is to take up five projects and 29 points related to irrigation in both the states. KRMB said the two states are to hand over five projects and all outlets in Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar in the first phase and help in implementing the gazette notification.

Telangana Irrigation Principal Secretary Rajat Kumar said that the AP government is in favor of awarding its projects, Telangana is opposing it and wants to defer the notification. It also urged the board to give an equal stake in the Krishna basin.

KRMB and GRMB held meeting with Telangana and AP and discussed in detail the gazette notification.

Meanwhile, AP Secretary Shyamala Rao complained that Telangana violated power protocols and generated electricity in Nagarjuna Sagar and Srisailam. Rajat Kumar denied this and said that the matter is in the Supreme Court.
