With 290 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the death toll has risen to 4,46,658.
Taking a sigh of relief, India’s active caseload has come down to 3,01,442. Active cases account for less than 1% of the total cases, which currently stands at 0.90%.
At 97.78%, the recovery rate is the highest since March 2020. In the last 24 hours, 28,046 more people were cured of Covid, taking the total recoveries to 32,815,731.
The weekly positivity rate is 1.99%, which is less than 3% for the last 92 days. According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate is 2.09%, which is less than 3% for the last 24 days.
A total of 56.16 crore samples have been tested so far for the detection of Covid-19. So far 84.89 crore vaccine doses have been given under the nationwide immunization program that started from January 16 this year.
