Kovid in India: 28,326 new infections registered

New Delhi, September 26: India recorded 28,362 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday with 260 deaths in the last 24 hours till 8:00 am, according to the data of the Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage crossed the 85 crore mark with 37.14 lakh vaccine doses as of 9 pm on Sunday, according to the CoWIN dashboard.

With 26,032 patients getting cured in the last 24 hours, the cumulative number of patients who have recovered since the start of the pandemic increased to 3.29 crore. As a result, India’s recovery rate stood at 97.77 per cent.

According to the ministry, the weekly positivity rate for the last 93 days stood at 1.98 per cent, less than 3 per cent. The daily positivity rate is reported to be 1.90 per cent, below 3 per cent for the last 27 days and below 5 per cent for 110 consecutive days.

Also, the country conducted 14.88 lakh tests on the last day, which is 56.32 crore tests done so far.

Further, the Government stated that more than 83.54 crore vaccine doses have been provided to the States/UTs. In addition, more than 4.56 crore vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs which have more than 1.17 crore doses in the pipeline.
