NEW DELHI: The Center on Saturday urged states/UTs to focus on beneficiaries who are waiting for their second dose of Covid-19 vaccine after their gap period ends.
States and Union Territories were also urged to improve the pace of vaccination and accelerate its coverage as the country moves to vaccinate all eligible populations by the end of the year as part of the nationwide coronavirus vaccination campaign.
“So far, 71.24 crore first doses, covering 76 per cent of the eligible population, and 30.06 crore second doses, covering 32 per cent of the eligible population, have been administered. covid Vaccines,” the health ministry said in a statement.
It said states have been requested to access the on line list of payable beneficiaries CO Win Door.
health secretary Rajesh Bhushan Said that the detailed line-lists of the due beneficiaries can be used for preparing district wise second dose administration plan in which district magistrates have been included for implementation in a time bound manner.
It was also suggested that the states and Union Territory (UT) to daily review the progress of such district-wise scheme, to ensure saturation of all eligible beneficiaries, the ministry said.
It said states/UTs have been advised to identify and prioritize districts that have low coverage for focused action and to address local challenges, the need for additional covid vaccination centers and in rural areas. To ascertain the need for mobilization efforts to improve access.
“They were also requested to share their strategies for increasing the second dose coverage,” the ministry said.
The meeting was attended by the Principal Secretary (Health), Additional Chief Secretary (Health) and State Surveillance Officers of the States and Union Territories along with Manohar Agnani, Additional Secretary (Health) and other senior officers of the Ministry of Health.
