Kovid cases in Kerala: 12,294 fresh cases, 142 more deaths in Kerala Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala on Monday reported 12,294 new Covid-19 cases, taking the infection tally to 36,81,965, as the death toll from the disease rose to 18,743 with 142 additional deaths.
A state government release said that 18,542 people have been cured of the infection since Sunday, taking the total number of recoveries to 35,10,909 and active cases to 1,72,239.
In the last 24 hours, 87,578 samples were tested and the TPR was found to be 14.03 percent.
So far 2,95,45,529 samples have been tested.
Some of the worst affected districts of the state are: Malappuram (1693), Kozhikode (1522), Thrissur (1394), Ernakulam (1353), Palakkad (1344) and Kannur (873).
Of the new cases, 72 are health workers, 68 had come from outside the state and 11,425 of the 729 cases were infected with the source of contact unclear, the release said.
At present, 4,91,831 people are under observation in various districts of the state. Of these, 4,63,950 are in home or institutional quarantine and 27,881 are in hospitals.
