Kovid: 8,865 new Kovid infections reported in India, lowest in 287 days. India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: India today recorded 8,865 new coronavirus cases, which is the lowest increase in cases in a single day in the last nine months. The country also reported 197 deaths.
The daily increase in new coronavirus infections has been below 20,000 for 39 days and has now reported less than 50,000 daily new cases for 142 consecutive days.

The death toll from the disease has risen to 4,63,852 with 197 more deaths in the last 24 hours. The death rate in the country at present is 1.34 percent.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases in the country has come down to 1,30,793, the lowest in 287 days. This comprises 0.38 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020.

The ministry said that the national COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.27 per cent, which is the highest since March 2020.
The country also recorded 11,971 recoveries in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries in the country to 3,38,61,756. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.07 per cent. For 43 days it has been less than 2 per cent, the ministry said.
According to Ministry of HealthA total of 11,07,617 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. India has so far conducted a total of 62,57,74,159 COVID-19 tests.

Further, with the administration of 59,75,469 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 112.97 crore (1,12,97,84,045) as of 7 am today, provisional reports . This has been achieved through 1,16,00,209 sessions.
