Thiruvananthapuram: First case of Omicron Kerala Reported in Ernakulam. The person from UK had landed at Kochi airport on 6th December. He had come via Abu Dhabi.

His wife has also been tested positive and his local contact in the state is his mother, who has also been tested positive. All three people have been isolated. The driver of the car in which he left the airport has also been kept under surveillance. The condition of all the positive people is stable and they are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
He had come from Etihad Airways (EY 280) and there were 149 passengers on the flight. However, the passengers who may have come in close contact with him are those who had between 26 and 32 seats. As they will come under high risk groups, all these passengers will be tested with immediate effect. All these passengers have been identified.
health minister Veena George He said that all precautionary measures are being taken as per the central guidelines and the contact list of people who came in contact with the positive person has been prepared. He said that steps have been taken to prevent any kind of spread.
