Kovid-19 case found in athletes’ village, raising fears ahead of Tokyo Games

One person has tested positive for COVID-19 Tokyo Olympics in the athletes’ village, organizers said on Saturday, adding to concerns about infections at the Games starting next week.

Tokyo 2020 CEO Toshiro Muto confirmed that a foreign visitor attending the Games had tested positive. He would not disclose the nationality of the individual, citing privacy concerns.

Tokyo 2020 Olympics postponed by a year due to global reasons pandemic pandemic, mostly without spectators and under stringent quarantine rules.
