KOLHAPUR: As many as eight electric bikes were gutted in fire in a parking lot of an apartment in Nagala Park locality of the city on Monday afternoon.
Pradip Jadhav, one of the residents of the apartment, has started the business of selling electric bikes. He had ordered the bikes to sell in Kolhapur. Ranjit Chilechief fire officer of Kolhapur Municipal Corporation, said it is likely that the battery of one of the bikes exploded and the fire spread to other vehicles, which were then completely burnt out. However, he said the actual cause of the fire needs to be investigated.
