Nupur was the only candidate to win the student union election from ABVP in 2008.

Muslim organizations filed cases
At the same time, Sunni Barelvi organization Raza Academy has also lodged a complaint against Nupur in Maharashtra. Nupur has been accused of making controversial remarks against Prophet Muhammad. On Monday, another case was registered at Thane’s Mumbra police station.
