With the new iPhone 16 series being released, Apple has officially announced one of the most highly awaited updates: iOS 18. While packed with many new capabilities, the iOS brings new ways to personalize and an AI-driven boost with tools ranging from ChatGPT-driven Siri to image creation and content editing.

iOS 18 Rollout Date
The initial version of the new iOS will be made available to Apple users starting September 16.
iOS 18 Compatibility
iOS 18 will support upwards of more than 25 different models of iPhones, including the latest and greatest iPhone 16 series, all the way back to older devices like the second-generation iPhone SE. Here is the full list:
• iPhone 16 series: all models
• iPhone 15 series: all models
• iPhone 14 series: all models
• iPhone 13 series, including mini, Pro, Pro Max
• iPhone 12 series, including mini, Pro, Pro Max
• iPhone 11 series, Pro, Pro Max
• iPhone XS, XS Max, XR
• iPhone SE, 2nd and 3rd generation
Apple Intelligence AI-Powered Tools
The 18 series features powered with AI, like the integration of ChatGPT into Siri and image generation, will be supported only by the following devices:
• iPhone 16 series, all models
• iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max
How to Prepare for iOS 18 Update
Before you upgrade to iOS 18, here are the things you can do to ensure a seamless transition:
1. Charge your phone to avoid interruptions during the update.
2. Download the update using Wi-Fi connectivity.
3. Free up space on your device for the installation of this new system.
4. Protect your data with a backup through iCloud or a computer.
This release is one of the larger jumps that iOS has taken to include the implementation of AI-powered tools into the system.
