Team India batsman KL Rahul will be out of action for a while as Rohit Sharma’s men gear up to take on New Zealand in the first ODI in Hyderabad on Wednesday (January 18). The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has granted leave to both KL Rahul and Axar Patel due to ‘family commitments’.
Both Rahul and Akshar are gearing up for their respective weddings before the end of this month. Actress Athiya Shetty and Rahul are all set to tie the knot this January 23 in an intimate ceremony at Suniel Shetty’s Khandala farmhouse ‘Jahan’.

Ahead of his wedding with Athiya, KL Rahul’s Mumbai home has been decorated with lights and hangings. In the video, decorators are seen installing lights on KL Rahul’s building. It also looks like the family members are preparing for the pre-wedding function.
As per reports, the pre-wedding celebrations of KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty will take place on January 21 and 22. Also, Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul can get married in a simple ceremony. Their close family members and friends are expected to attend the wedding. Due to the India vs Sri Lanka ODI series, KL Rahul could not get much time to prepare for his wedding.
A report in ETimes states, Athiya has helped him select outfits for the ceremony. It will be a traditional South Indian wedding in Khandala. Athiya and Rahul met through a common friend in 2019 and are said to have hit it off with each other instantly.
Meanwhile, all-rounder Akshar Patel is all set to marry his fiancee Meha. The two got engaged last year on Akshar’s birthday.
Akshar Patel and Meha were dating each other for a long time, after which they got engaged on 20 January 2022.
