Lakshya blew all guns and won the first game 21-17, playing some decent shots from his backhand, to capitalize on some of Srikanth’s mistakes.
Although the two Indian stars were meeting for the first time, Lakshya fought to take the lead in the first game. Srikanth took the lead at 2-2 but Lakshya bounced back to take a 15-10 lead. They won the game 21-17.
After scoring a goal in the second game, 12th seed Srikanth played some brilliant shots to keep the target under pressure to take a 9-9 lead. The former world No. 1 opened the lead 13-10 and slowly went on to win the game 21-14 to level 1-1.
