Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election Few months are away and political parties in the state have already started active election campaign. The nexus between politicians and film stars is not a new thing in the southern states. Many well-known actors of the South Film Industry have become quite successful in politics. Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar’s recent meeting with Kannada film star Kichcha Sudeep has now fueled rumors about the actor entering politics ahead of the state assembly elections.
Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president DK Shivakumar met the actor at his residence in Bengaluru. Pictures of the meeting have surfaced on social media and many are speculating that Sudeep may soon join the Congress.
Shivakumar tweeted his picture with the actor on Friday. “I met Mr. Kiccha Sudeep, an actor who made his mark in various film industries and brought fame and respect to Karnataka. On this occasion we discussed the problems of Kannada film industry. I got his suggestion for the special manifesto that the Congress is preparing to solve the problems of the Kannada film industry,” said Shivakumar

Shivakumar’s tweet does not touch on whether Kiccha Sudeep will join the Congress party or not, but speculations are rife that he may do so soon. According to sources, the Congress leader may have invited Kichha to become the star campaigner for his party.
Sudeep is known for speaking his mind and taking a clear stand on various issues related to Karnataka. Last year the Kannada actors made headlines when they fought with each other on social media Bollywood Actor Ajay Devgan, who claimed that Hindi is the national language of India. In August, the actor’s decision to correct a journalist’s “Kannada” accent also generated controversy.
Kiccha Sudeep will next be seen in his upcoming film Kabzaa directed by R Chandru opposite Upendra in the lead role.
