Kia recalls 30,297 units of Carens, here’s why!

New Delhi: South Korean automaker Kia has launched a massive recall of its MPV Caren in India. The recall was issued between September 2022 and February 2023, covering a total of 30,297 units. The company will fix the issues with the digital instrument cluster of these vehicles through a software update.

According to the information provided by the company, the recall was necessary to address any inconvenience faced by the customers during the booting process of the digital instrument cluster. Some units were having a black screen issue, which will be fixed through a software update.

Ensuring delivery to vehicle owners
The carmaker will contact the owners of these MPVs and advise them to visit the nearest service centers for inspection. If any problems are found with their cars, they will be fixed through software updates.

second recall for this car
This is the second time that the company has issued a recall for this particular car. It was initially launched in February 2022, and by October, 40,000 units had been recalled due to a defect in the airbag control system. This problem was resolved through a software update.

The Kia Carron can be bought in India with a choice of 6-seater and 7-seater configurations. The car is offered with one diesel engine and two petrol engines. The 1493cc diesel engine produces 112.8hp power and 250Nm torque, while the 1482cc petrol engine produces 155.6hp power and 253Nm torque.
