In West Bengal, a case of writing the popular political slogan ‘Khela Hobe’ in the answer sheets on behalf of the students in the board exams has come to the fore. After this the Bengal Board has become strict. Officials have said that if any student or girl student did this in the 12th examination, then action would be taken against them.

The 10th board exams were held in Bengal last month. During this while checking the answer sheet, the teachers noticed that many students have written ‘Khela Hobe’. It is a slogan written by the ruling Trinamool Congress, which was heavily used during the elections.

If the students of class 12 do this, then strict action will be taken
West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) President Chiranjeeb Bhattacharya said that punitive action would be taken against any student who wrote a political message on the answer sheet in the Class 12 examinations. Let us inform that the 12th examination has started from April 2 and will continue till April 27.

Answer sheets written with slogans will not be checked
Bhattacharya further said that the teachers have been instructed not to check the answer sheets with slogans. Punitive action will also be taken against these students. A High Powered Committee has been constituted by the Council, which will decide on the quantum of punishment.

It is not right to politicize the education sector.
Bhattacharya said that writing political slogans, campaigns or controversial issues in the answer sheet is in violation of the rules and guidelines of WBCHSE. No ruling party should politicize the education sector. WBCHSE itself organizes the Higher Secondary Examination. It is known as Higher Secondary (HS) examination for class 12th.
