One of the much awaited films of this year, KGF: Chapter 2 is all set for its grand release on Thursday, April 14. According to the report of Bollywood Hungama, the show will start at 6 am under the direction of Prashanth Neel. This is done to ensure that the film is released widely to accommodate the demands of the audience.
Now, the publication in its latest report said that the show timings for the film will start at 6 am in Surat, making it the first film to do so. The publication quoted Kiritbhai T Vaghasiya, who runs The Friday Cinema Multiplex in the city, as saying, “I have KGF – Chapter 2’s show at 6:15 pm in my theatre. It is 100% already sold out. So, now, I put on another show, at 6:05 am, and this one is almost full.”
Vaghasiya revealed that for the first time in the history of Surat, a show will start at 6 am. Subsequently, other multiplexes in Surat have also organized early morning shows.
The publication quoted a trade expert as saying, “The residents of cities like Surat usually do not like to go so early to watch a film. Therefore, in such centres, the first show usually takes place after 8:00 or 8:30. With KGF – Chapter 2 the demand was such that all the shows of day 1 were full. Therefore, the exhibitors were forced to take this step. This shows that the figures for the first day of the film will be historical.”
The sequel of the film, KGF Chapter 1 was released on December 21, 2018 and earned around Rs. 250 crores at the box office Apart from Yash and Sanjay Dutt, the sequel stars Raveena Tandon, Prakash Raj, Srinidhi Shetty and Anant Nag in lead roles.
