KFPA distances itself from Shane Nigam and Sreenath Bhasi.

KFPA, AMMA and FEFKA addressed the issues related to Shane Nigam and Srinath Bhasi. They said they are not banning them but will not cooperate with them either.

A joint meeting of the Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA), Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) and Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) on Tuesday decided that henceforth they would no longer associate with two young popular actors Shane Nigam and Srinath. do. Bhasi allegedly because of his ‘misbehaviour and indiscipline’. According to the organisations, the decision has been taken following recent complaints from several producers regarding incompetent behavior on film sets. In a press meet held in Kochi, the associations also said that they would send a list of actors who are involved in drug abuse to the state government, including the cultural minister.

“There is no ban. Don’t break what we said. There have been many complaints against Shane Nigam and Srinath Bhasi. There are many actors who take ‘chemicals’. You can understand what I mean by chemicals. Our Means ‘drug abuse.’ There are a lot of people who use drugs on the sets and create trouble. We cannot cooperate with those involved in drug abuse. We are not going to name all those who use drugs. However, both Shane and Srinath have repeatedly troubled the filmmakers, technicians and co-stars.”

Ranjith also said, “(KFPA) will not provide no objection certificate to the upcoming films of Shane Nigam and Srinath Bhasi. We are not banning them. We are asking the producers to stop with these irresponsible artists.” We will not be responsible for the commitments they make. We have told the producers that if they go ahead and make films with these actors, we will not complain. If there are people who can tolerate these two, They can. As far as we are concerned, we cannot cooperate with those whom we cannot tolerate.”

Shane is known for films like ‘Kismath’, ‘Parwa’, ‘Ishq’ and ‘Corona Papers’ and Srinath is known for films like ‘Da Thadiya’, Honey Bee, Trance and Bhishma Parvam. ‘Kumbalangi Nights’ in which the two played brothers was a huge hit.

Ranjith alleged that both Shane and Srinath harassed the respective filmmakers and their crew. “Film organizations cannot justify the actions of Shane Nigam. Shane insisted that he should be given more prominence halfway through the film (Nahasa Hidayath’s upcoming film RDX). He wanted the film to be edited mid-production. He also threatened not to work in the film. There is proof of all this,” said Renjith in response to a question on complaints against Shane Nigam and Srinath Bhasi in the presence of Sophia Paul, producer of the film RDX.

Talking about Srinath Bhasi, Ranjith said, “Srinath Bhasi has no idea in which films he is acting. He even says that the agreements with the producers are traps.” Last week, FEFKA had then said that no actor has the right to interfere in the process following reports of Shane Nigam walking out of the sets of the film RDX and even trying to interfere in the editing process.

Both the actors were not publicly available for any comment despite the serious allegations leveled against them.

Though allegations of drug abuse by Malayalam film actors were in the air for almost a decade, this is the first time that these organizations associated with film production have made a clarion call publicly.
