Kerry Packer’s mistress left the luxurious two-story harborside penthouse on the market for $25 million after the late media tycoon used it as her ‘private retreat’.

Kerry Packer’s former mistress and longtime employee is selling the late media mogul’s luxurious penthouse for more than $25 million.

After officially putting residency on the housing market last Thursday, Julie Trethovan is selling apartments at the elite Toft Monks in Sydney’s Elizabeth Bay.

The penthouse, which is a combination of two apartments, was purchased by Mr. Packer in 1999 for $4 million.

After officially putting residency on the housing market last Thursday, Julie Trethovan is selling apartments at the elite Toft Monks in Sydney’s Elizabeth Bay.

The five-bedroom residence is on the 12th and 13th floors and overlooks Garden Island, Darling Point and Manly.

Mr Packer considered it his ‘private retreat’ and he reportedly employed a chef, driver, nurse and housekeeper at the residence.

He began a $2 million renovation at the penthouse a few months before his death in 2005.

Renovators built an internal staircase that connected the two apartments. Mr. Packer also had two apartments on the lower levels and dedicated them to his employees.

Former Minister of State Jack Beale, who owned the property before Mr Packer, said it was the site of Mr Packer’s escape.

Trethovan has amassed a large property portfolio and counted residences in Whale Beach, Edgecliff and a commercial property in Bondi Junction, Sydney Morning Herald informed of.
