Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala 21,116 new people entered on Thursday COVID-19 The cases pushed the total infection count to 37,46,121, as the death toll from the disease rose to 19,246 with an additional 197 deaths.
In the last 24 hours, 1,30,768 samples were tested and the TPR was found to be 16.15 percent. So far 2.99 crore samples have been tested.
A state government release said that 19,296 people have been cured of the infection since Wednesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 35,67,492 and active cases to 1,79,303.
Among the districts, Thrissur led with 2,873 followed by Malappuram with 2,824; Ernakulam 2,527; Kozhikode 2,401; Palakkad 1,948; kollam 1,418; Kannur 1,370; Alappuzha 1,319; Thiruvananthapuram 955 and Kottayam 925.
Of the new cases, 115 are health workers, 102 had come from outside the state and of the 19,954 945 cases, the source of contact was not clear, the release said.
At present, 4,99,903 people are under observation in various districts of the state. Of these, 4,72,523 are in home or institutional quarantine and 27,380 are in hospitals.
