Kochi: Kerala State congress committee work chairman pt Thomas said on Thursday State The government has failed to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
“day to day, covid Cases are increasing in Kerala. Yesterday, over 31,000 cases were reported and India reports about 50,000. If we look at the figures, more than 50 per cent of the Covid cases are coming from Kerala. Earlier the government had claimed that it was doing well and taking action. But now, the real picture has come out and it shows that it is a complete failure of the state government in dealing with COVID 19,” Thomas said.
He said that the state and Central Governments need to make serious interventions to reduce the cases in the state
Thomas said, “There is a need for serious intervention from the state and the Centre. Otherwise, the cases will increase. People are in panic. Immediate and time-bound action is needed from the state government. We need to overcome this situation.”
Kerala is reporting a record number of cases and 31,445 fresh infections and 215 deaths. The number of active cases in the state stood at 1,70,292 and the test positivity rate (TPR) was recorded at 19.03 per cent.
