Kerala Covid cases: Covid test positivity rate above 15% in Kerala | Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Covid-19 test positivity rate (TPR) in the state again crossed 15% on Sunday. TPR, which had gone down from 14% on Saturday, came back to 15.11% on Sunday.
The state recorded 18,582 cases and 102 deaths. The total number of Kovid deaths in the official figures has thus reached 18,601. On Sunday, 1,22,970 samples were tested, taking the total number of tests to 2,94,57,951.
Of the new cases, 141 have come from outside the state, and 17,626 have contracted the disease through local transmission. A total of 68 healthcare workers have tested positive.
A total of 4,99,031 people are currently under observation, and of these, 4,71,395 are in home/institutional quarantine and 27,636 in hospitals. Based on the WIPR rate, 634 wards under 87 local bodies are under strict lockdown.
24 lakh vaccination in a week
Meanwhile, Health Minister Veena George said that more than 24 lakh people have been given medicine for Kovid-19 in a week. Minister said five lakh more Cowishield The vaccine dose has reached Ernakulam on Sunday night.
So far 2,42,66,857 doses of vaccine have been given in the state. Out of this 1,75,79,206 people were given single dose and the rest were given two doses.
From Monday to Sunday, 24,16,706 people were given the vaccine. There are total 1,409 vaccination centres.
