Kerala Covid Cases: 10,691 Test Covid Positive in Kerala; TPR at 13% | Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

Thiruvananthapuram: The state witnessed 10,691 positive cases out of 81,914 samples tested in the last 24 hours. Of the new cases detected, 8,969 people had received the vaccination, 3,321 took both doses and 2,666 did not receive a single dose. The test positivity rate (TPR) is 13.05%.
The total cases reported so far in the state have gone up to 48,07,416. The total active cases currently stand at 1,11,083, of which 10.1% are either admitted in hospitals or other treatment centres. Meanwhile, 85 recent deaths were confirmed covid, taking the respective death toll in the state to 26,259. At the same time, 12,655 patients have recovered from the disease.
Of the new cases, 10,196 cases have been infected by local transmission. The contact source of infection for 393 could not be traced. Among those infected, 52 are health professionals and 50 people have come from outside the state.
Ernakulam reported the highest number of cases at 1,639, followed by Thrissur (1,378). Thiruvananthapuram (1,197), Kozhikode (976), Kottayam (872), Kollam (739), Malappuram (687), Kannur (602), Pathanamthitta (584), Palakkad (575), Idukki (558), Alappuzha (466), Wayanad (263) and Kasaragod (155).
A total of 3,61,495 persons are currently under observation in various districts of the state, of which 3,48,743 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centers and 12,752 are in isolation in hospitals.
WIPR is more than 10% in 332 wards of 227 local bodies as per Weekly Transition Population Ratio. Strict lockdown restrictions have been implemented in these wards.
