Kerala Born Aria Becomes India’s Second K-pop Star From Group X:IN

New Delhi: Kerala-born Aarya has become India’s second Kpop star after Shreya Lenka. Yes, you heard it right. The young singer is one of the five members of X:IN and has now become the second Indian to become a K-pop star. They officially debuted earlier this month with their first full-length album, ‘Keeping the Fire’.

Aarya’s real name is Gautami and she comes from the South Indian state of Kerala. Apart from being a K-pop star, she has worked in the Malayalam film Melavilasom as a child artist. She was selected as a member of the GBK entertainment group MEP-C in 2022 where she performed under the name Ami. Soon after, Aria was revealed as the group debutant, along with four other members, Chiu, Nova, Roa, and Isha. However, unfortunately, he had to leave the group earlier this year.

On March 8, 2023, Aria and Nova were featured in the line-up reveal video for the 44th K-Stage Yes or No event, where upcoming girl group X:IN will perform. This confirmed her membership in the group.

Soon after the announcement, the group kickstarted their activities in the K-pop industry and released their pre-debut single, Who Am I, on March 12. This development has left fans quite excited and amazed by the group and their musical productions as they are eager to know what else they will bring to the table.

Indians have always been very interested in K-pop and it was a happy moment when Shreya Lenka became the country’s first K-pop star. Now that the list includes Aria’s name, it seems like we are entering a new era of pop culture and music.
