These days the campaign to run bulldozers on illegal constructions is going on in Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a meeting with Aam Aadmi Party MLAs on Monday regarding this. In this meeting, he targeted the BJP.

He said that Delhi has not been settled in a planned manner. More than 80% of Delhi can be called illegal. So will you destroy 80% of Delhi? If the houses and shops of 63 lakh people of Delhi were vandalized by bulldozers, then it would be the biggest devastation of independent India.

First a bulldozer campaign was launched in Jahangirpuri. People said that no one has ever raised the issue of illegality before, this is happening after the incident of violence between two communities.

MCD does not even see people’s papers
Kejriwal said that the bulldozers of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) destroy any house or shop by reaching the colonies. Even if people show them papers that their home-shop is not illegal, then that too is not checked.

About 50 lakh people live in unauthorized colonies, 10 lakh people live in slums. There are lakhs of people who have modified the balcony of their homes or done something which is very different from the original map. Will all those houses be demolished?

Kejriwal told the MLAs – be ready to go to jail
Kejriwal said that the Aam Aadmi Party is against illegal occupation and wants to see Delhi beautiful, but we will not tolerate the destruction of homes and shops of 63 lakh people. Arvind Kejriwal asked the MLAs of his party to be ready to go to jail after opposing the campaign led by BJP in many parts of Delhi.

Encroachment removal campaign started from Jahangirpuri
Violence took place in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri on the day of Hanuman Jayanti, after which the encroachment was removed with a bulldozer. However, then the action could not go on for very long, as the Supreme Court’s direction had come on it. At present, the court has stayed the action of removal of encroachment in Jahangirpuri.

Bulldozers demolished many illegal houses. Meanwhile, the JCB driver told that the slums and shops built on the roads have to be removed.

After this, many more areas of Delhi were selected for the bulldozer drive. Last week, the MCD reached South Delhi’s Mangolpuri and New Friends Colony to remove encroachments. Bulldozers broke illegal shops here. The parking, boundary and other constructions outside the houses were demolished by the bulldozers. People had occupied there by putting railings on the road outside the houses, which were removed by bulldozers.
