- AAP Convenor Kejriwal to flag off new luxury Volvo buses from Punjab
- Bus service between Jalandhar and Delhi’s IGI Airport
- The AAP government has also decided to modernize and upgrade the state’s transport services.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann will flag off luxurious Volvo buses from the state to the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport on Wednesday. Kejriwal will flag off buses from Jalandhar.
AAP’s chief spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang on Saturday said that the AAP government has already taken several decisions to end the supply of liquor, sand mafia and narcotics in the state.
“Now the transport mafia will also become a thing of the past as the party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal along with CM Mann will flag off Volvo buses on June 15,” Kang said.
Chief Minister Mann had on Friday announced the introduction of luxury Volvo buses from Punjab to Delhi airport.
Mann also said that for decades only private transporters had run their buses on this route and “robbed people by charging them according to their will and hobbies”.
Kang said the AAP government has also decided to modernize and upgrade transport services in government buses.
He said that the state government would run these luxurious buses which would charge less than half of what the private transporters would charge.
