The minister told reporters that after the establishment of the museum, visitors will see the artefacts in their natural surroundings and it will be the first of its kind to be set up in Tamil Nadu.
He said that the department would take the help of IIT-Madras to protect and preserve the brick structures in the quadrants. Thennarasu said that the image of a fish inscribed on a ring discovered in the seventh stage and the engraved coins found here strengthened the theory that the people living here had commercial transactions with other parts of the country, namely North India.
