The latest snub comes at a time when BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar was released on bail after his dramatic arrest on charges of leaking Hindi SSC exam paper.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao could not receive the Prime Minister on Saturday Narendra Modi in Hyderabad who came to lay the foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 11,300 crore. PM Modi will also flag off the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express in Hyderabad and later address a public meeting at the Parade Ground in Secunderabad.

This is not the first time that the Chief Minister has not received the Prime Minister. In November last year, when PM Modi was in Telangana to dedicate the Ramagundam fertilizer plant to the nation, Rao did not receive him. The CMO had then alleged that the Prime Minister’s Office had not coordinated the details of the tour with him. He also felt that the invitation extended to the Chief Minister was not befitting his office.

Expressing his displeasure through a tweet, the CMO mentioned the absence of Rao’s name in the invitation letter. He also informed that the state government had 11 per cent stake in the project.

Once again, KCR did not receive PM Modi when he was in Hyderabad for the BJP’s National Executive meeting last July. In May, the Prime Minister was here for the 20th annual function of the Indian School of Business Where KCR was not seen again. Earlier in February, the chief minister had again disappeared when PM Modi unveiled the Statue of Equality.

The Chief Minister has been accused by the state BJP cadre of insulting PM Modi by not meeting him several times.

The latest snub comes at a time when BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar was released on bail after his dramatic arrest on charges of leaking Hindi SSC exam paper. After his release from jail, Kumar had alleged that the arrest was a ploy to create disturbances ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit.

Kumar reviewed the arrangements at the Parade Ground late on Friday night and asked all the workers to make the program grand.

After flagging off the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express from Secunderabad Railway Station, the Prime Minister is expected to lay the foundation stone for AIIMS Bibinagar, five National Highway projects and launch the redevelopment plan of Secunderabad Railway Station.
