The victim has been identified as Sanjay Sharma and he was shot when he was on his way to the local market. He was first injured by the bullet, but died after being taken to a nearby hospital.
According to officials, a Kashmiri Pandit was shot dead by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday.
He said that the terrorists shot a person in Achan area of South Kashmir district in the morning.

Kashmir Zone Police wrote on Twitter, “Terrorists opened fire on Minority citizen Sanjay Sharma s/o Kashinath Sharma r/o Achan Pulwama while going to local market.”
Officials said the area has been cordoned off and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers.
Terrorist organization TRF – a front of Lashkar – has claimed responsibility for the killing.
Reacting to the terror attack, Omar Abdullah tweeted, ‘Deeply saddened to hear about the demise of Sanjay Pandit of Achan, Pulwama district of South Kashmir. Sanjay was working as a bank security guard and got killed in a terrorist attack this morning. I unequivocally condemn this attack and express my condolences to their loved ones.
