The Indian Army has taken the lead by launching the valley’s first-ever Kashmir Women’s Cricket League at the iconic Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Srinagar. Additionally, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, will also be present, underscoring the significance of the occasion.

Afreen Jan, a budding women’s cricket player, shares her excitement about participating in the tournament: “I am stepping out of my comfort zone to play cricket for the first time. These tournaments provide a platform for girls like me, and I am determined to win. With more opportunities, I believe I can make it to national and international cricket.”

Sabreen, another talented player, expresses her gratitude for the chance to play at the stadium: “This is my first time at the stadium, and I am thankful to my coach for this opportunity. I want parents to support their daughters’ aspirations. My dream is to become a cricketer and represent the nation at the international level.”

We believe that outdoor activities are essential, especially in the digital age.”
