A 14-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide after a warden refused to give his mother a phone call to wish her on her birthday. The incident happened on Sunday. Poorvaj, 14, was a resident of Hosakote, Bangalore.

According to the police, Kishor had asked the warden for a mobile phone so that he could wish his mother. Although he denied it. His mother’s birthday was on 11th June. Police said when the boy’s parents tried to contact him, he was not allowed to speak.

Police said the boy was hurt and he hanged himself after leaving a suicide note. He said that Poorvaj took this extreme step just before midnight on Saturday.

Other students of the hostel found Purvaj dead this morning and informed the hostel management. Police said the boy’s parents reached the hostel later in the day. Further investigation is on, he said.
