MANGALURU: An undertrial prisoner undergoing treatment in the district Wenlock Hospital He allegedly attempted to commit suicide by hanging from a window using a bedsheet on Monday.
Naveen Shetty, 31, was arrested by the city police on September 20 after he entered the city District Education and Training Institute (Diet) Complex near Karangalpadi, next to the District Jail and attacked three female staff members with sharp weapons.
City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar said the undertrial prisoner was admitted to the government hospital for mental illness. He said he appeared to be out of danger.
