Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Sunday urged his Karnataka counterpart BS Yediyurappa not to go ahead with the Mekedatu project, a day after Mekedatu requested him not to oppose the initiative.
Rejecting Karnataka’s stand that the interests of Tamil Nadu farmers would not be affected by the implementation of the project, Stalin, in a letter to Yediyurappa, said this view could not be agreed upon and listed the reasons for it.
