Police suspect that the family took this step as they were unable to repay the loan taken from the local moneylenders.
Yadgir: Six members of a family jumped on Monday in a suspected case of suicide in a village pond in Shahpur taluk.
According to the police, Bhimaraiya Surpura, his wife Shantamma, son Shivraj, daughters Sumitra, Sridevi and Lakshmi were found dead in the pond.
“They may have drowned around 10 am this morning, but we came to know about it only when their bodies came floating on the surface,” a police officer said.
